Rui Gomes da Silva
Rui Gomes da Silva, founder and Senior Partner of LEGALWORKS - GOMES DA SILVA, graduated from the Lisbon Law Faculty in 1981, and has been practicing law since then.
Currently responsible for the management and coordination of the firm's work, Rui is the author, together with Miguel Medina Silva, of the manual "General Theory of Civil Law - Basic Notions".
With a long participation in political life, where he has been a Minister, a Member of Parliament, President of the Portuguese Delegation of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, Member of the High Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office (1994/1999) and a Member of the Supreme Council of the Public Prosecutor's Office (1994/1999).
Public Ministry (1994/1999) and Vice-President of the PPD/PSD - Social Democratic Party.
Rui was Auditor of the National Defense Course and of the GLS, at Georgetown University, Washington DC, USA.
In the sports field he was Vice-President of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, Director of Benfica Futebol SAD and Chairman of the Disciplinary Board of the Portuguese Equestrian Federation.
